Golf Day

Another Fantastic Day

29th November 2019 saw the running of the Rotary Club’s Annual Charity Golf Day.

Thanks again to the generous assistance from Maroondah City Council the Club had the use of Dorset Public Golf Course to hold our Charity Golf Day.

The day got off  to a great start with the “Ringwood Men’s Shed BBQ” and   “Lillies Noodle Bar” whilst several members managed to extract dollars from golfers in the way of raffle ticket sales in our “Christmas Trailer Raffle”.

At noon the golf officially got underway under the watchful eyes of Course Marshals, Tim T . The Marshal was charged with ensuring the day at least finished before sunset. From a casual observers view, the level of “good humoured sledging” seemed to be elevated this year and generally appeared to add to the enjoyment of the day. Golfers seemed generous with their support of the various feature holes including the Hole-in-One an and contributed to us raising $20,000.00 for the days effort.  Bookmaker Andrew added to the enjoyment of the players by offering incredible odds on the Target Hole.  Well done, Andrew.

Once again the club had tremendous support from a large group of very dependable volunteers on the day and we could not have held the day without their support.

For all those that contributed to the day as sponsors, players, suppliers or volunteers please be assured the funds raised will be use diligently and applied to worthy situations.

Winners on the day were Andrew Body’s team.  Well done, fellas.

Finally, please be aware that our Golf Day on Friday 27th November 2020 has unfortunately had to be cancelled as a result of Covid 19 restrictions.

We  look forward to seeing you again next year when we hold our charity Golf Day to  be held on the last Friday in November on 26 November 2021.
